This weekend is an opportunity for trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive people* to gather in community together. In these challenging times, we invite you into a space of sanctuary, refuge, and an honoring of our glorious gender diversity. With a creative spirit of playfulness, we’ll connect, rest, play, and explore what gives us joy, even in—especially in—difficult times.

The weekend’s program will include a mix of group conversations and guided reflection, gentle ritual space, plenty of outdoor activities, and opportunities for creative expression as well. All program offerings are fully optional, and you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish; there will be ample time for rest, hiking, reading, time on your own, and connecting.

Program highlights will include:

An evening discussion with guest artistsRichael Faithful, (folk healer, artist, lawyer, and activist,) Eli Conley, (singer, songwriter, teacher, and activist,) and Sona Minasian, (musician, conductor, educator, and activist,) where we’ll have an opportunity to learn from and with them about trans joy and about their work in the world.

A workshop with Eli Conley: “Sing From Your Heart”: Voices (like genders) come in an amazing array of shapes and sizes, and there is no one else who sounds just like you! In this workshop we’ll share about ways we do and don’t feel connected to our voices as trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive folks, and then we’ll use breathing and vocal exercises to explore our bodies as instruments.

And more!

In a spirit of radical inclusion and care, this retreat will be observing additional covid risk protocols. All attendees will be required to take a rapid covid test within 24 hours of attending, we will hold many activities outdoors, and we will be observing indoor masking. Please reach out to us if you have questions about these protocols.

Scholarships are available. We are actively fundraising for this event, with the hopes that finances do not have to be a barrier for anyone who wishes to attend. Click here if you would like to sponsor part or all of a scholarship for this retreat, and put “Trans Sanctuary” in the “gift message” field.

*This retreat is for transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse people only. If you are one of our beloved cisgender allies and want to support this retreat, we invite you to contribute to the scholarship fund for this event.
