D. J. Hudson

D. J. Hudson (he, they, Ser) is a Black trans Southerner, cowboy, and minister to the movement. Hailing from Atlanta  with roots in Rome, Georgia, D. J. spent 15 years in Nashville, Tennessee attending Fisk University, Vanderbilt Divinity School, and organizing locally, statewide and regionally for racial & economic justice and queer & trans liberation, while quietly pastoring and listening for spirit all along the way. A proud member-lead of Southerners On New Ground (SONG) since 2014, D. J. now serves on SONG’s board. He finally got tired of running from his calling and is currently taking a sabbatical to write, be organized by his family, neighbors, and the flora & fauna of Atlanta, revive his vision for movement chaplaincy, and start having church in the Wild.
