Nathan Evans Fox

Nathan Evans Fox is an Americana songwriter and musician based in Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised in western North Carolina, he aspires to write songs that sound the way gas stations feel. When it comes to Nathan’s approach, Americana Highways writes, “It’s not cornpone, it’s not alt-country, country-western, or pop-country. Fox has a solid hold on a serious genre of country seldom covered by many artists. It cuts through the commerciality of country music.” His song “Hillbilly Hymn” caught the Internet by storm with its palpable longing for a “kingdom come” where “we’ll want for nothing/just a long table, a mess of beans and honey buns….” About the song, Nathan writes: “To be clear, this song isn’t endorsing or rebuking any religious perspective—it’s simply using the language I grew up with in the Bible Belt to articulate the world I want to see. The only thing I’m being evangelical about is liberation.”
